Journal: Goa and Kerala

In 2014 we spent 16 days travelling around Goa and Kerala and beach hoped mostly, it wasn’t a very long trip but we managed to cover Vagator, Arambol, Anjuna, Baga and Colva then we got a sleeper train from Goa to to Alleppey in Kerala and ended the trip in Varkala which was our favourite place.

I’ve always said India was an experience, although all trips are an experience I felt like this one was very up and down. I still don’t know how to put it in to words, I regret not writing a journal whilst there but some things I remember vividly.

Some memories from India:

masala omelettes, the sweet bread and jam on the same plate, sticking to mushroom masala dishes to avoid deli belly, the amazing sweet chai tea on the sleeper trains, getting our photographs taken by strangers and then them sending them to us days later on facebook, getting rammed by a cow on the beach, the baby pink sunsets, the taste of Indian weed and smoking a joint on a house boat on the backwaters, renting surf boards in kerala but the current kept taking us outside the safe zone and being a black out train with men shining their phone torches in my face whilst I was trying to sleep.

One day I’d like to go back and experience the North of India!
